Padraig Harrington
The first Irishman to win the British Open in sixty years, only the second in the storied 136 year history of the tournament, and the first European winner of a major in eight years. His 2007 British Open victory made history - the stirring four hole playoff with Sergio Garcia will long linger in British Open lore.
A self-described journeyman golfer, Harrington has competed in 103 PGA Tour events, with three titles, 26 top-10 finishes and has earned more than $10 million in prize money.
In 2006 Harrington chose White Oak, Tryon NC to be his home when playing in North America, which he does nearly one-half of every year.
